Bogus calls have been made to members of the public in the Thanet area reporting faulty/end of life electric meters. Do not arrange any appointments unless you check with your supplier. This may be a way to enter your property.

Thank you to a co-ordinator from Thanet who advised us that the Microsoft computer problem scam is still alive and calls are still being received. This goes to show that they don't go away!
Thank you to a co-ordinator from Harbledown Canterbury who spotted a reference to a fake Aldi voucher in the Kent Messenger. If it looks too good to be true it is!
Kent's Aldi customers should be on their guard for this Facebook voucher scam. The counterfeit coupons claim to be redeemable at any Aldi store, offering up to £85 to spend at the discount supermarket. The fake voucher links to a survey page, and if you click 'share the result' it spams all of your friends with the 'offer'. Experts fear it could also infect your computer with dangerous malware. Aldi has confirmed the offer is fake.
Co-ordinators are still informing us that members are receiving calls purporting to be from BT BT saying they are removing some of their older email accounts on a specified date unless you 'revalidate' your email by clicking the link... don't even think about it! One co-ordinator from Ashford has reported that the number he was called from was 0063749279. Do not call any numbers or click on any links or start your computers. These calls purporting to be from BT are particularly upsetting to the most vulnerable in our communities so please continue to spread the word re not calling back when given a number, even if it appears genuine and comes with a reference number.
Thank you to co-ordinator from Deal who advised us that both she and her daughter have received emails from Apple support regarding music accounts that they do not have. The message states that their Apple ID was used to purchase an Apple Music 1SPlan from the iTunes store. It provided a link for them to cancel and refund the transaction. The order was not for a large amount so could fool the unwary. They did not click on the link. I have had this from several of you. Please alert neighbours.
